What is a Registered Medical Assistant?
You've probably heard of the career field of medical assistant but are wondering what exactly constitutes a registered medical assistant. Some employers will help you pay to attend nursing school if you decide you want to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN.) From there you may go on to become a nurse practitioner, the closest thing to a doctor you can become without actually being one. Nurse practitioners can see patients on their own and write prescriptions just like doctors can. Whether you remain a medical assistant or pursue higher learning is up to you. It just depends on your priorities, goals and how much time you can devote to education.
